Eating, Reading, and Sharing Inspiration!

re·fresh·ing
riˈfreSHiNG/
adjective
  1. 1.
serving to refresh or reinvigorate someone.

I am more refreshed than ever! I realize that in addition to creating inspiration, I have to consume it. As I eat more raw veggies and eat more vegetables overall, my moods have truly been affected--in a positive way.

With this blog, my greatest hope is that you are motivated through what has been said and shared. Whenever you are down, whenever you feel uninspired, I strongly encourage you to visit this page and read the 102 interviews of people who refused to give up.

I had my reasons for selecting the people featured on this blog. I didn't want to include just ANYONE. I chose to interview people who have substance to what they had to say. They needed to be able to provide upliftment to the reader. <--- If that's even a word. Anyone that reads their post must feel the need to continue on and never give up.

I encourage you to share this blog with a friend or family member. Whether you share a link or your personal favorite post, spread the word. We all know someone who could use an extra dose of wisdom, a pat on the back, a nudge, and shove, and even tough love.

Read. Share. Read again.

Name: Fallon Carter

Current Job Position Title: Owner

Company Name: Fallon Carter Weddings

Contact Information: 347.260.5654; fallon@falloncarterweddings.com

Special skills: Managing Engaged Women and all of the emotions that come with them!
Describe your job story:
I graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a degree in Political Science. After graduation, my mission was to attend law school and live my "dream."  I got a job at an Israeli Aerospace company to help save for Law School and was pretty much set.  All was well- I had my own place, I rode my bike to work, went to political happy hours and I figured this was going to be my life.  A good friend of mine invited me to her sisters wedding in Paris, France and that is when everything changed.  Upon arriving in Paris- we were welcomed with the awful news that the brides dress was destroyed, along with all the bridesmaids dress, and there were last minute details that still needed to be handled- in less than 1 week. Fast forward to wedding day...I am standing on a terrace in France, fireworks above and I am bustling the bride into her dress and prepping her for her entrance- everything made sense at that moment.  I had never felt happier than I did at the moment.   So, I got back to the states- I quit my job, had some business cards made, packed everything up, and moved to NYC with $700 in my pocket and no idea about what came next...

What did you want to be when you were a child/ teenager?
Lawyer/Politician

Are doing your dream job?
I now have the dream job that I didn't know I wanted.

What do you like MOST about what you do? What do you like the LEAST?
Most- I get to experience the energy of love on a daily basis. Its absolutely amazing to be in a room with 2 people so stupid in love with each other- you cant help but smile and enjoy it.  Least would have to be seeing couples focusing so much on the cost and the negative aspects of planning a wedding.  Planning doesn't have to be stressful- its all about your perspective.  You can have an amazing wedding with ANY budget... its all about how you look at it.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Being a celebrity event planner, traveling for destination weddings, Giving bridal and event advice on television, writing books and planning my own wedding (which will be small)!

Are you happy with where you are in life?
Eh, In theory. When I look back to where I was- Yes, I am VERY HAPPY and I know that I am extremely blessed to be living my dream....but I am just now realizing that I can have, do, and be anything and that I am more powerful than I imagined.  So I am happy with where I am...but I will be happier when I get to where I am going.

What more do you want to do with your life?
I would love to help others realize their full potential and that your thoughts become things- so think wisely.

What drives/motivates you?
All the people that told me I couldn't and that I would never.  Their voices ring so clear in my mind sometimes- Its as if I have my own theme music.

What else do you do?
I am also the co-founder of an organization called "After I Do."  We help engaged couples focus on more than just their wedding day.  We host events that discuss topics such as financial planning, raising children, and sex after marriage.  There are so many resources available on planning a wedding- but when it comes to planning a marriage *crickets* and we wonder why the divorce rate is so high- couples are prepared for one day- but not forever.

What is your advice to those who are seeking employment and have no hope?
If you are looking for a job or want to start your own business- write down what you want. Focus your attention on it and Thank God for it as if you received the offer letter or the first client that day.  Focus only on the positive and be in a place of happiness. The thoughts of lack and that it wont happen- will keep you in that place! Trust your God and have unwavering faith!
